Another Romulan ship in the works

Starting playing around with this one and just couldn't stop tweaking...here's what she looks like at the moment  This one even has nacells (lol)

Looks like a pterodactyl. Sorry if that is not what you were going for. Very sleek indeed, but it does not capture the Romulan feel to me.

I appreciate seeing these new designs. You guys have a lot more talent than I when it comes to ship design.  I hope you come up with some more ideas.

That would kinda have to be a warbird for the thin section to make any sense. kinda like a valdore type. interesting design.

I totally agree that it looks like a pterodactyl.  At the moment I can't decide whether a new head and/or body would change the feel of that.  I think the wings make it look sleek and carry the notion of a speedy craft.

I think it's the wings personally that make the pterodactyl look - swept back wings create a swfit/swallow aspect, wider wings/tail create a hawk, etc

I think that Dom has the right idea. It was the wings that made me first think of a pterodactyl. The way that part of the wing juts in towards the head is what stands out to me.

I think it has a more reman look to it, but nice design either way.

i think the wings should be flipped around and swept foward sort of like the Valdore.. then it would be in the same family

pretty... I really like this one a lot.

Oh oh!  Try this!  You know how the D'Deridex has the upper and lower sections?  What if you added a lower section to this one, but made it much smaller than the upper section and more feather-partition-like.  Then make the wingtips a bit shorter and more rounded and add some support structure between the top and bottom.

So it would look like this from the front (horrific art skills notwithstanding):



Well, you don't have to do all that.  But I really like this design and it's gotten me a bit excited.  The nacelles really do it for me and I like the idea of a back-swept wing design to contrast with all the forward-swept warbirds we have now.
