Is there a good reference page that outlines the history beginning with Star Trek: Armada up to the present date?

It appears that there are several different efforts going in several different directions, and I'm not sure how to track all of this info back to the original game.  Here are just a few "projects" that I've noted:

Armada I

Armada II

Megadroid's Mission Mod

Evolution  -  Edit (forgot this one)

That is what I think he meant. :sweatdrop:

The answer is...no...

you can look at Ff and download the ones that have the most hits.  Thats what I did anyway, but that was all before FO.  Nothing compares to FO :D

Basically, I'm trying to figure out where most of the active Mods are located.  I've found some stuff on FileFront & the links above....but I'm not sure how to tie most of the files together, much less install them.

does that help?

well...other than FO which is the best mod out there, you can look at Majestics site.  the stuff at MSFC is exclusive to members only, but the stuff there is generally higher quality, and if you need help installing it, most of the authors are still active on the forums.

But nothing is better than FO IMHO :D

Naw, I would still say that Sigma is nothing without FO. :sweatdrop:(No offence TUN :innocent:)  If I was counting mods based on FO i would say that my BSG mod is the best and it isn't even done yet.:p  The reason being that it is an addition to FO, so all parts of FO are still playable, Plus my mod. :D

But we can simply say that all things FO are the best.  Any mod attached, or expanding from FO are all the best there can be.

Well, the nice thing about Sigma is that it's not set in the Star Trek universe, so there's quite a bit of freedom in its development.  And there's an entire backstory and history to all the factions.  Once all five races are available for balancing, it will be a blast of a game.  That's quite an achievement. :D

NeroDAn As far as I know  trying to get the background of each and every mods  most likely you have to go to  each of the mods sites . But there will be little continuity in the  time lines because  some mods Ignore cannon time lines.I think what NeroDAn is trying to ask is how to tie all the  mods together for playability .  From my experiance, most mods  that  Stray from the Fleet Ops.3.13 mod,  most of the time won't  play nice with each other. Some of this is due to the fossil of a game engine  in the A1 mods. A nother reason is the  models the A1 mods use are of a low poly count so they look bad. In the Armada1 mods there is  relatively no easy way to transport files from A1 mods  to the newer Armada 2 Game engine and  follow on mods.  Even a lot of times differnt mods from A2 family of mods will not play nice with each other. A nother  reason is that  the ODF's ,ship models and Tech trees some times can be  so differnt  as to cause problems.  Relatively , it is not easy to fix. If you want to have  the ability to play  each of the seperate games,  you have to setup each one  as seperate stand alone  game  with a differnt file name. NeroDAn  It is probially best if you have limited experiance rooting around  the  game files just to stick to Fleet Ops Since, It is almost bulletproof in  instalation, and play. The development team is top notch. The Development Team quickly  resolves  any  hiccup in playability. I used to have the same problem of mods  from many sites  not  playing nice  together.  Since  sticking to FO  I haven't been  disappointed because  of the decesion.

The link to the MMM forum has a trailing space which is causing it to error. There is also Megadroid's Mission Mod which will have more stuff when I get round to it, but does contain a link to the forum.

Okay, the Tereanan Empire will not be released for fleet-ops.

oh really?  Why not?

I was joking anyway :sweatdrop:  Most re-textures, gui mods, all sorts of things are great mods without FO.  It is just my opinion that mods built on FO have the most potential because of all the extra code.

In that case, care for a little competition?

By the way, those are some pretty interesting mods that you linked.
