Armada I on Lan, windows 7, portable app, Lan CD issue

Talk about anything related to old versions of Armada.

Me and my friend both own the game and want to use it on our netbooks as a portable app.

When I go to play I get  the error that 1 of 4 players must have a cd to play on lan.

Is there anyway around this?  I'm running version 1.3.  Can someone post a link? I tried 'no cd' fixes which work for single player but not lan MP

Thanks guys!

The only problem is weather or not Win 7 starter(if that is what you have) can do that. :sweatdrop:

You'd be suprised, these netbooks can run games pretty well (incidentally, I'm using one right now :whistling:)
Kinda unrelated, but anyone know how to zoom a load screen out sufficiently to press the play on it, my computer crashed so I've been trying to play Fleetops on this one, but I'm not able to press Launch at the bottom right! :crybaby: I removed the bar, but it was still just low enough I couldn't press play (Windows 7 taskbar). I've been too busy lately to try to get it to work, so if anyone knows a solution so I wouldn't have to tinker, I'd be extremely grateful :innocent:

all windows 7 versions should support a virtual cd.

to use a disk image (virtual disk) legally you will need to make a disk image of your legal copy of a2. you can only make the disk image on a computer with cd drive (external cd drives work too). you will need software for this. one example is alcohol 120. another is daemon tools. ashampoo free version can make the image but not load it. to load it you can get daemon tools free version.

these will install a virtual disk drive on your netbook. then direct this program to mount the a2 disk image.

Unfortunately, you need to have a CD drive first. :pinch:  If you have one on a computer on your network, you might be able to just make a networked drive instead, and put the CD in that computer.
