Ferengi Crashing Error

Talk about anything related to old versions of Armada.

I just want to report that all of the crashing in my games will be solved when the Ferengi Error is fixed. I ran a test on trying to recreate all of the crashing errors that I have reported and found that none of them happen when the Ferengi are turned off for any Instant Action game (this includes the increased Shield/Health HP Values and the “Destroy All” Weapon).  The only true crashing errors that are left are weapons related, that I believe goes back to missing weapons.spr information though.

Now I guess that the only problem that I really am looking for help on is how to fix the Ferengi Problems (they seem to revolve around TradeProcess and SalvageProcess).

Other than this one “major” error though, there are really no problems with my mod that I at the moment need to report or have problems with… yet.  Well these questions that I have, I won’t write about until the Ferengi Error has been solved too.

Lastly, I’d like to restate one thing, “Thank you all for helping to narrow down all the crashing errors that I’ve reported to the Ferengi, it has made many things easier with this mod knowing what the problem is and how I can continue to test the game. Thank you all.

I finally actually fixed the Ferengi problem and I wasted so much time trying a mod I didn't need to and also since what I did was something I thought wasn't the problem.

I changed the name of the fer.odf since it is the Ferengi ODF file and made it say Ferengi.odf since that was what was in the race.odf. Turns out the moment this happened was right after I added the Dominion Ultimate Mod, it was the first mod I added then I didn't notice at the time that the fer.odf in the race file was replaced with ferengi.odf. I over looked this because I thought all along it was the same file and was already in the game. I was wrong and it caused all the other problems and I still assumed it wasn't connected to that one fer.odf.

Well now I fixed it by making fer.odf = ferengi.odf.

Problem fixed, but the Second Federation campaign still went and crashes on loading and that should be fixed now.

EDIT: Here is the bugreport and screenshot for the load crash of the second mission of the Federation Campaign. I don't think this involves the Ferengi now since they should be fixed. Can anyone tell me what the problem is for this one?

Federation Trading Stations aren't even crashing the game when they are built so I don't think this is connected, but it could be though.

I've only had a brief look at it because I'm not at a computer with A2 installed, but I think it might be something to do with a sound being missing - have you removed or renamed any sounds?

As I said I'm not at a computer with A2 so I can't be sure about this.

lol!  That is what I posted in that last thread.  I attached a race.odf that had the ferengi odf fixed to sat fer.  you did the oposite, but that works too. :lol:

Glad you got it fixed.

//Edit

I am not sure, but I think that, judging by the position of the loading bar, it is either a dls.h file error, or an events.dat file error.  it is not techtree, or sprite error, but it could be a mission script error for all I know about them.  I would suggest making sure all the sounds are correct, and then, if you edited the dls.h at all, check there.

I'm not fully sure what you mean by the file dls unless you mean "Dynamic_Localized_Strings" and I'm going to assum that is what you mean because the letters seem to match in the right places. I'll post that file along with my Events file. I have edit them both but only by adding text, not removing, only additions if they were required by another mod though.

I haven't removed sounds only edited them like (for example the Red Alert Sound for the Federation is now the one in Armada I too, the computer doesn't say "Red Alert" anymore, now you get the correct sound).
