help with defiant improvement

i know how to change special weapons on the ship by tweaking odf,but wanted to give it the guided quantum torpedo passive ability,coz it should have torpedos anyway and gets blown up way to easy,so my question is wat is that file called in th odf folder so i can re-assign the weapon as i cant seem to find it

If I am not mistaken, I am pretty sure the Defiant class already gains Quantum Torpedoes after it reaches rank 4... the Guided Quantum Torpedo your referring to is from the Excelsior-II class is it not?  If that is the case then the odf your after should be "fedW_excelsioriiY2.odf" (Risner) or "fedW_excelsioriiZ2.odf" (Mayson) if you wish to add it to the Defiant.

Well, there is no guided quantum torpedo odf.  For the Excelsior II's guided torps all they did was change the hit chance of all the vessels they wanted to have affected.  You can see it in the fedW_excelsioriiY2 odf.  You should be able to copy the list they have there and put it on your defiant's odf to get the same effect.

What the defiant lacks is the ablative armor. It should withstand much longer at "shields down" as other ships. But, when compared with an execlsior, the amount of hull armor (absolute) might be the same from excelsior to defiant, because the defiant is much smaller.

So, how do you think can you balance this? The thing I like to implement for doing this is more like:
Erratic manuvers (passive) for the defiant, that enables the defiant to dodge phasers, pulse weapons and torpedos IF not guidet, like the fire from turret stations.

thats a gr8 idea,make it more realistic based on dominion war,still like to see sum one do sum querky map with that kilngon ship from mirror universe that the mirror defiant kicked its arse
