Ok so I set about to add DS9 to fleetops....ive done this with stock vanila so Im not inexperienced with this. And I combed thru the forums to learn everything I need to know(I think) about adding external ships to fleetops. Anyways Here is my issue I need some help with.
So I modded In ds9.
I copied the sod over to the sod directory.
I copied the build button wireframe and textures to the textures folder.
I copied the admirals pic bitmaps to the admirals ship images folder.
I edited gui_global.spr to include the build button and wireframe.
I edited freetech.tt to add ds9.
I added ds9 to the medeiteranians build items list(all 4 versions), I used the "all_delay" slot after mixed tech yards and tried with after the araudi yard as well.
I cloned the odf from a upgraded fed outpost for use with ds9 editing weapons and hardpoints and all such.
I added the stock emitters and lights as indicated in the importing non fo ships thread.
The unitname in the odf matches the sod.
Now here is the problem....No build button appears or anything.the game did not crash or anything..I checked to see if the build button was inviasable and it just wasent there. Did I forget something?

if you click the spot where the button should be does it go ahead and build it? also if you added a hotkey try to build it with that. Also im not sure about this but i think the build button needs to be added to the existing build button file. Perhaps someone else can confirm this.

The build button is 100% not present...its not even visable....its not like invisable..i mouse over all the area and nothing. whats the build button file? I added the button to gui_global.spr....does it need to be added else where?...Ill give the hotkey a try(i didnt think of that. I checked for spelling errors and everything and I cant find anything wrong....Im starting to get grrr....the only dif in anything is the build button is 64x64 pixels and not the 80x80 like the rest..would that make a dif?....the station works fine in stock A2...also if it helps its the comand base from daves cardassian full race mod....Im totally baffled as why it dosent work...perhaps the odf is wrong somehow but would that prevent a button from showing?

Try putting the station in all tech files, notably tech1.tt and fulltech.tt . By what you've said you only put the station in freetech.tt

I went back and did that.still nothing.
EDIT: I added the station to the "edit_federation_uncommon.odf" and tried placing it via map editor and still nothing. So basicly Im still clueless. All of my other mods work fine. Its like the entire set of sod, odfs, buttons, wireframes. tech files, and sprites dont exist.....yet they are installed in the proper directories.
EDIT2: Ok I got it building finally....but now I get an error box....I guess the textures are goofed up....but it works fine in stock a2. I included the stock emitters and lights by copying the emitters renaming them to a2emitters and using @include a2emitters,spr directly under the sprite table in fleetops.spr I used @include a2lights.spr in lights.spr....any other Ideas? and yes I added the stock renamed emitters and lights to the sprite directory.
EIDT3: WOOT!!!......I rebooted my computer and all worked I dunno how that helped but now it works woot woot!!! now to just fix the tooltips!!! Ill do that tomorow after work.....
