Talk about anything related to old versions of Armada.

I've been getting back into the Original Armada and was wondering if it was possible to have the mining stations build more than one frieghter? would i just add a build list or modify the mining.odf? or something else

I'm pretty sure that mining stations can build ships but I can't remember for certain. I'll be back later with some code for you to try.

I think it would lose the ability to mine if you give it construction abilities. You'd probably need to give it the ability to swap between Shipyard and Mining Station, making it like the Dominion Constructor.

ok, but im talking original armada not fleet ops, could i just have it build four mining ships to begin with? you know how it automatically builds one freighter once the station is built? could i make it so it builds four?

FO or stock, station types work the same; yard, starbase or miner can't overlap without something to change the odf. That's not a FO-exclusive feature, and exists in stock in the form of the Galaxy's Saucer Intergration.

There is a line in the odfs that decide what ship is made after construction (freighterName = "ffreight"), maybe adding multiple ships to that line will work?

i think what spartan means is that currently the mining facilities spawns with one freighter 'for free'. now he wants it to spawn with four freighters instead.
a clean way for that currently does not exist afaik

Actually Saucer Integration. is a Armada II feature not an Armada 1 feature. If I read SPARTAN078's post right, he said the Original Armada which normally means Armada 1. However I could be wrong.

That line will only be used once unfortunately - like Doca said, no clean way to do this will work currently to my knowledge as well  :sweatdrop: . If this wasn't stock A2/A1 there are some 'dirty' solutions...
