Modding of Fleet Operations
Talk about anything related to old versions of Armada.

Hello,
i´ve downloaded and installed FO3 yesterday. It´s great, but in some point, the ships could look better, in my opinion. So i´ve tried to mod it with, for example p81 sovereign, but i only get an "Error" ship. I want to keep the .odf an just replace the .sod. But it seems, that the game couldn´t find the textures. I´ve already tried to put them in the DataTextures folder and i tried to make a TexturesRGB folder (like in original A2), but it did not work.
I´ve modded the .odf with the baseName="xyz.sod"
Where do I have to place the .sod an the textures, without modding the .sod itself? Or is it not possible to mod Fleet Operation???
THX

yh it'll be because of the emitters being A2 emitters so u need to include the stock A2 emitters in FO3

thx blade, I got it and it works. I even get Picards Voice to work. You have to replace with on the tables, in the events.dat. Now, Picard commands my Enterprise, how it should be. The next is Worfs Defiant, with Voice.
How can I edit the tooltips? I could write on by myself, but without status display. I can´t find the AUTOTOOLTIP_xyz!
But there is one thing what´s really driving me crazy. I cannot rescale the ships, because the scaleSOD-command in the .odf is not working.
Any idea would be nice, how I can rescale ships an stations, without editing the textures or the .sod!
thx

Its in the dynamic localised strings file you need something like wordpad. Also there is a thread somewhere that tells how to read it, could someone post a link?

thx for the tip, I think, I find it.
Maybe I figure it out by myself, how it works! For a new entry, I think, I have just copy any existing entry and edit it for my new ship!
Ok, I understand...or... I don´t understand the symbols. I guess, this is, what you mean! The Link could be of great use !
Nobody any idea about the scaling or the scaleSOD?

Hi,
ScaleSOD works for me, ive managed to make a really huge cube out of it and so on without much issues. Remember .odf's are case sensitive and the beginning should have a capital S for the ScaleSOD = 1.6 or whatever size you like...

Odf's are case sensitive? Strange, is that FO odf's only? Because almost all my odf's in the standard game are scaleSOD.

if armada odf commands would be case sensitive at all then scaleSOD should work, as it is written exactly in the executable that way. other than that, odf commands are not case sensitive, doesn't matter, even if you write ScAlESoD or something else
