New ODF structure
Talk about anything related to old versions of Armada.

Is it possible to create new odfs that define class? I know there are already destroy.odf etc, but what im getting at is a single odf that will cover all vessels inside that class.
eg when you have to define hitchance or base damage for weapons you have to name each individual odf, can you set up odf's to define an entire range of vessels just by having said units "#include Example.odf"?
how it would look:
Weapon.odf
Hitchance = 1.0
"scout.odf" 0.45
"destroy.odf" 0.5
"CruiseA.odf" 0.75
"CruiseB.odf" 0.80
""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""
fscout.odf
#Include "Scoutbase.odf"
#inlcude "Scout.odf"
Rest of ODF....
""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""
Inside scout.odf
Unkown.. is it possible to set parameters to define the units that include this odf so that they as a whole, are included when this one is used in their place?
Sorry if its set out a bit of a jumble.

Sounds very good...but I guess it's a hell of additional work...

You can do this yourself quite easily, well sort of what your asking anyway. Create an ODF called ScoutWeap.odf and have all the scout weapon stuff in there no in the weapons for the scout you just put #include scoutweap.odf and make any small changes you need.
Unless thats not actually what your trying to do?

not sure what your saying moose .
if i can explain a bit better:
scoutbase.odf is an already existing odf that defines a scout (what physics file it uses, sensor range etc. etc) has to be included as is.
scout.odf is the new odf i just made up (it is my hope that there are commands that can be used that can tie/bind whatever is set to include this odf to it when used in a weapon/hitchance odf, i.e use the name scout.odf in place of each individual odf that has been set to include this.)
does that explain a bit better what im getting at?

Yeah i see what your saying now, it could be usefull but would be a minor point as you would still have to set up this scout odf, all it saves you doing is copying and pasting in your list of ships and adjusting acordingly.

hm from my current point of development thats not possible in normal armada2, could perhaps be added in the patch project horizon, but i think the best way to realize this is some kind of odf-file-managing tool or an excel sheet.
