I'm making a transparency map for a texture using paint.  I've replaced all the lit areas with white for the texture, now, I want to replace all of the colors that are not white to black.  Is that possible in photoshop?  If so, how do I do it?

Can you select by color?  you can in gimp.  if you can, select the white color only, and invert the selection you should now be able to just paint over the whole thing, and yo will just skip over anything white.

Thanks.

PS:  I already finished it in paint, but I'll remember what to do next time I make a transparency map.

How do you make transparency maps? I would like to see this in hopes of making a glass sphere.

Well, in STA2, the transparency maps are used to lite the model up.  Not to make it transparent.

transparent things would be related to the material settings
