A possible addition to FO either through an avatar or map units is federation vessels from the alternate reality.

USS Voyager -> ISS Voyager and so on.

USS Defiant -> ISS Defiant

These alternate federation vessels could have different specs and abilities.
Intrepid: Slower, but armed with biogenic weapons.
Defiant: Less powerful, but with cloak

Thoughts and ideas?

I think it has been clearly stated by devs that no alternate universe scenarios will be undertaken in FO.

Pretty sure it's a no go.

Avatar could be seen as a scenario, but map units are fair game.
Besides it could be an interesting opening for known units (BoP, galor, several Fed vessels) with different properties outside mixed tech.

Dunno, I could be wrong.

But as far as I know nothing is planned to make an appearance.

FO has its own timeline.

I'm guessing almost a definite no to avatar, map unit I dunno, maybe but doubtful.

The Premention from STA1 is a map object, so having the ships you suggested is not outside that possibly. As an Avatar, I do not think that will happen . Would also be placed low on a priority list I would imagine.

For the main game we should simply ask: why?
For a map object / mod: you can already do that.

Well, the devs don't "want" to include it in the main game, and i wouldn't do either.
This doesn't stop anyone from making a campaign or scenario map with units they want.
See Crisis Void mod for an example, which will include playable races that are not playable in FleetOps itself.

I have seen mention of 'odd-colored derelicts' once or twice, so a map object or two isn't so unlikely. The difficulty of crossing realities makes large numbers unlikely.

That said, an evil and sinister-looking Galaxy armed like a Cube sounds nice...

Especially if it has two nacelles, right?
