Hi!
Yesterday I have watched "The way of the warrior" (DS9). Is it possible that the Negh'Var is larger here?
The Negh'Var in Fleet Ops seems small against it.
The same problem: Sovereign-Class
The USS Defiant is much smaller, or the Sovereign much bigger than in Fleet Ops. You can see this perfect @ First Contact
(Play at 2:40 Min)
What do you thing about it?

Ship size in canon is very inconsistent, changing constantly. Defiant is a frequent offender in that regard, Sovereign is one of the few that doesn't change.
FO just picked a generally believable size and stuck with that (I still think Defiant's too big in FO).

In FleepOps the size of ships has been "tweaked". If a Defiant and a Borg Cube were to scale then either one would fill the entire screen or the other would be a speck. This idea also applies to the Defiant/Sovereign comparison, although to a lesser degree.

IMHO current scale is acceptable considering that you still want certain relatively small ships to still be visible and other relatively large ships to not dominate the map.

Yup, we generally try to keep ships to within canon size designations: there are quite a few changes based on graphics in the shows. However, for gameplay purposes, some of the smallest and largest ships have to have altered sizes in order not to screw up game mechanics etc.

Only Voyager seemed to keep its size straight. Still, I wish the writers and animation department would've kept the size consistent for the other shows.
For my mod, I have a set size for each ship. (though I don't have the models in yet) I've had to cut one from player use, as its too large to use in game, but I may use it as a background/off screen object. The only thing that can change the sizes of my ships is the MSDs, but even those are gonna be changed.
As for the comment about the Defiant being too big, I agree. The Defiant is only suppost to be 120-150 meters long, smaller then an Excelsior, which is about 500 meters long, as shown in one episode. Here, it looks about as big as an Excelsior. This is too big. If theres a vote to shrink the Defiant, I'm in for it.

Galaxy pulled off 7 seasons and many cameos with decent size consistency. The Sovereign did, though probably only because it had about 3-4 showings.
Voyager didn't have many visual inconsistancies because they used all thier points on plot and continuity ones... they seemed a bit iffy with the Shuttlebay and how the Flyer fit in it, though.

Ain't that the siege disruptor or whatever the supersized gun it gets as a vet is called?

Yeah, it had the 'tickle guns'. Kinda fitting, considering it was pretty much a canon veteran. The only Negh'Var ever seen in the main timeline/universe and it had them.

I'll give you that. The flyer was really the only craft that Voyager had that had size problems. 1 moment, its only big enough for the shuttle bay, the next, its bigger then a small scout that wouldn't fit in said bay. At least Voyager stayed the right size.

By judging this battle clip (although it`s located in Mirror Universe), Negh`Var outmatches Defiant ship by at least 20>1 in size. Also, Defiant was approximately the same size as Klingon Bird of Pray.

The size of the Bird of Prey, I can understand. The BoP is small, so it feels right that it's the same size, but in game, the Defiant is still the same size as the ships 10 - 25 times its size. That's not right.

Actually, that's just the Mirror Universe Regent's Flagship. For some reson, they decided they'll just upsize a Negh'Var for it.
It's not actually a Negh', it just looks exactly like one.

This may be useful, just ignore the Star Wars thing.

And we should consider the game mechanics regarding the size of ships. Although in my opinion the Klingon vessel need to get a little bigger.
As you can see the BoP is as big as the Defiant and the Deridex in much bigger than the Galaxy and the Sovereign.
EDIT a word
