Transwarp Gate

Is there a possibility to make a StarGate connect to another StarGate (but not to only one) ?

For example, building and connecting two BORG Transwarp Gate.

The Transwarp Gate allows the BORG to open a transwarp conduit from the gate’s origin to another location. Any number of vessels can travel either way through the conduit while it is open.

StarGates connect to another StarGate and don't create an exit portal in space.

I need some kind of Borg Gate connect to another Borg Gate :-) Thanks.

It's not a particularly good way, but if you make a mining station that references a wormhole for it's default freighter and build two of them, then a permanent wormhole will be established between the two. However, the wormhole would still be usable after the stations are destroyed and you could accidentally link with the wrong one if another player is trying it at the same time.

Can replace weapons be set up to require having more than one of something selected at the same time to work, like the old cube fusion ability or the 8472 combo-beam thing?

It would be nice to create a connection between two Transwarp Portals, or StarGates in the case of StarGates.

How to go about connecting the two, turning it off and then reconnecting to another gate? I'm guessing that it could work like setting a wormhole down in the map editor where you must have two points (two wormholes) connected for it to work.

Hmm... To be practical the gates would have to be relatively cheap. To not be OP they would have to only be able to connect to other gates, unlike in Armada 1. I'm not sure how this would play out, I'm optimistic but skeptic at the same time.
