A little clarification about battle summary

Which race do you like most? What do you like - what you don't like? Discuss it here.

In the summary at the end of each glorious battle :lol: in the Battles tab I only get 1 or 2 Battle from a long game with various "battles", so my question is what is consider a battle? and why all the game is considered as only one long battle is this by design or some Armada 2 issue?.

And the other thing is that the carrier fighters are being counted as ships and they die a lot.

1 battle per game is a FO thing, original A2 had it split into many battles. They were named after a nearby planet (probably ended after a short time without fighting in the area), so removing them is probably what ruined it.

Fighters are probably counted as ships because they're ships, whether you can select them or not. Unfortunatly, that will probably be removed (meaning I can't see the messed up and ridiculous names I gave them).

Oh I see, thanks for the clarification! We'll see how the new patch manage these things. :)

yes, the one battle per game issue is on my list. :) though it might not come with the next patch. it requires modifications to all maps to fix.

You could divide the current maps in square sectors and just name the battle according to say sector.

That idea is actually quite nice. :thumbsup:
This way we could even see if battles took more place on home or enemy ground etc.

yes, we are aware of the issues with the fighters display on the admirals log, too. there are various inaccuracies. sadly most of them not too easy to fix. more improvements are planned.

Expanding on this, four quadrants with four sectors each, so they could be named Sector A1, Sector A2... Sector D4. Or they could even be named after a starbase if one is near enough. That way you could have things like The First Battle of Starbase 597 or whatever.

Wouldn't a more interesting solution be to add a "battle area" to each resource location? That way, the engine would report on which expansions were fought over the most.

Yes, map creators will be able to place triggers on the map. You can assign custom names to them, which will appear in the battle log. This will work exactly the same way as it did as in stock armada 2 with planets - just without the need to place planets.
