Someone should put up some information at Star Trek.com. Does anybody know how many people fly through that website because it is the "Official Star Trek Website".
If we post up there.... than who knows how many more people will be playing Flt Ops (we could actually hit the 100,000 mark with some luck).

100 thousand? Not very liekly in the near future. We barely have 100 players at the moment. Certainly less than that on wippien.

Well, what if we hit a 5,000 mark? Or even 10,000 mark? Then we are definitely going to get big... because then word will go around. And who knows, maybe within a few decades of such an expansion we could have a site with more members than Filefront, or even Star Trek.com itself. The more we advertise the bigger our future will be.
Plus, with all those users, the devs will certainly have a lot of support (including donations ), what we do today will shape our tomorrow.

The day we get 1,000 players, I will donate £50 to the devs, because hopefully I'll have a job by then

Sounds good: now for the Dev team to fill up the members list with lots of fake names... naah, I kid of course
Perhaps once I get a job that pays for more of my means I can donate--at the moment I feel guilty, as I need the cash to pay for school and the assorted amenities

I feel ya, this is something I would totally donate to but right now I'm unemployed. I seem to be playing a game where I can see how long I can live below the financial line.

I think what puts some people off to FO is the "scare factor"....Ive met many people on other forums that like FO but they are modders and FO scares them......so they stick with something like the upgrade project......But i try to convey to people that FO is well worth the effort.....at least I think it is. But as far as I know there are only a few places that FO has news spots on....actually I can only think of 2 off top my head besides here. So maybe we need to find other places to post blogs up for gamers to discover this mod.....that also still have their A2 disk.

i think filefront, gamershell and gaming sites like example... ign.com, should the new files along with some nice screenshots of ingame eye-candy/gameplay
so that when the sites show the daily new files Fleetops is in there.
Fleetops.net has a good capacity for downloads and such but it lacks the being known by others which big gaming sites do not.

Actually, at one point we had over 5,000 people downloading FO per week from A2files. I'd say at leat a quarter of that amount play it. I don't really know, but it's a good baseline.

Yikes, that is a fair number of people Megaman
I'd say there about 100 people who play online in total ... and about 50 of those play semi regularly. Offline... who knows

Is anyone a good video commentator?

Actually, what would really be cool and would help advertise would be to hold a tournament and have observers record the game. Then go back and video comment on the matches and post on YouTube.
