I just thought of an interesting idea. What if you could do an alliance game, where you pick two or three other races you want to be in alliance, and instead of them being allies, you control them. Ex. You have a Fed and Klingon alliance so you start out with a Fed and a Klingon starbase and construction ships, etc. Then you could put ships on AI mode and set them loose to kill and conquer! Do any of you guys like the idea?
It kind of seems like a good idea, but it would go against what FO had planned. This would essentially give access to another race's tech tree, and FO decided to create the mixed-tech shipyards and ships instead of just letting you capture an alien construction ship and letting you build all of their ships
