The size increase was only about double from the TOS to the new E.  The ones after this would probably reach a size stalemate, just like C, D, then E, which didn't change much in between those ships.  Even fan-made designs after the E don't get much bigger.  It's like a logarithmic function.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned this yet, but wouldn't this be better in the Star Trek forum rather than FO General?  This really doesn't have any bearing to FLOPS.

This is in the FO section? I didn't read the title (aside from the word 'General')

Yes, the forum tree at the top proves this.

Star Trek Armada II: Fleet Operations > Fleet Operations > General

I don't always remember to read that.

actually this topic has been discussed before.  We talked about how pike said that kirks father saved over 800 lives by his actions, so that counts only people that didn't die, is the kelvin would have held somewhere around 900 crew members. so is really messed up.

Yes but the Kelvin has a ginormous saucer, one that is easy to shoot.  Perhaps that large design was retired in favor of a smaller saucer, giving you the mainline TOS ships.

Nah, I like the Kelvin's design, it looks like a real ship to me.

Who said the Kelvin wasn't real? According to the film, it is now a canon ship, as if was flying around exploring just before the Narada came through and changed time.

I believe he is referring to how it looks malleable, like something out of our future, not a science-fiction film.

And the alternate timeline is canon anyways, just as the mirror universe is canon.

Yeah I didn't mean canon, I meant prime universe.  :pinch:
