Andorian appearence?
Which race do you like most? What do you like - what you don't like? Discuss it here.

So guys i guess im a little new here, by that i mean i joined a few minutes ago. I was browsing tunngle lobbies and saw this game, figured i'd do some research which brought me here. I dont know too much about STAII or FLOPS but, i did play STA1 alot. My guess is that they are pretty close.
By most importantly i have to ask, my favorite race is the Andorians, and i was wondering if they have any part in the game? either way im going to start playing anyway, i just wanted to know if i could make a bad ass Andorian commando team or somthing sweet like that.
Sweet site, i hope to find someone to play with as soon as i track down a copy of the game.

welcome to the forum.
fo is a bit like a middle ground between a2 and a1. the biggest similarity to a1 is the lack of warp.
there is no ship or special in the game that is about androrians at the moment.
They are a member race of the federation, and hence are defended by starfleet. we haven't seen andorian ships in a long time. so presumably the only ships under complete command of andorians would be merchant ships or science ships. i don't think we'll see andorian ships for starfleet.
as for "andorian commando teams", andorians didn't seem particularly stronger than humans (or many of the other races in the federation. so I doubt that starfleet would make teams solely comprised of andorians. that's a bit divisive. also a commando team isn't a very federation tactic.

Well the reason i bring it up, in Star Trek:Enterprise (i know everyone hates, but i still enjoyed it alot) the andorian commando's were like the coolest characters in the entire franchise.
Either way, FO looks pretty great, im excited to get in on it

Hiya and welcome to the forums
While Andorian vessels are planned for map objects, and some mixed-tech designs might get some Andorian lineage, no mainline Starfleet vessel will be Andorian in design. However, that isn't to say you might not hear some Andorian voice-acting

The game is set in the post DS9 time line. Andorians as you know them from Star Trek Enterprise have invested their knowledge and effort into the United Federation of Planets thus also being reflected in the Federation ship design.
So the Andorians, being part of the Federation now, will be part of the game experience in the upcoming version. But they won't form a single faction so you could build a fleet consisting of ancient Andorian ships. That would destroy temporal integrity... or how others would say: Andorian ice cutters should not form the front line against the Dominion.
If we will see a ship here and their as an NPC is something to ask Optec, Dominus and Zeich.

See... this happens when the temporal integrity wabbles...

Well i have to say, i wasnt expecting any input on this topic really.
i guess needless to say, i do know the Andorians were part of Federation, but maybe some kind of Rebel faction or other kind of Outrageous scenario could take place where i could control an Andorian Cruiser could happen. i guess i can dream, or make my own bad ass star trek mod, but ill leave that to you guys.

Whilst Andorian ships as seen in ENT are obviously no longer in service by TNG, If you look at the designs of some of the more outlandish Federation ships, such as the Aegean, Sabre etc. they are very different to your standard Human design of "Saucer, Hull, Nacelles". Definitely more Andorian-esque. So their independent spirit lives on
