Borg shipnames

Originally, the Borg in an older version of the game had their shiptype in the designation (Cube 4100) like in canon. Now they go with a generic, non-canon name style (Vessel 4100). How come the names were changed?

yes, we had used this name scheme in 2.0 beta. don't remember why we haven't reintroduced it with the borg coming back in the 3.0 final after their absence in the 3.0 preview release.
it could be that we thought that a more neutral designation for the vessels would better fit for the borg and/or we weren't sure how to name ships like the borg queen's vessel (aka diamond in armada) as there doesn't seem to exist a 'canon' name for that or we just forgot about the 'canon' name designations back then. one way or another it for sure is a valid point to discuss and think about
