Do they still make this.

FleetOps on the Armada II engine is discontinued. There will be no more development on that platform.

The devs are now creating a new Star Trek RTS based on the "NX" engine. I believe their plan is to create something that plays similarly, but can be expanded past the limitations Armada II imposed on them.

Please read this news article for more details.

Note that the devs are not very open about their progress on this new project. They feel that such communication is a distraction. They have been goaded on occasion to make posts with some details though; search for posts by the various project devs.

I have been a big fan of fleet ops for along time.
We really have not heard anything for several
years. I would imagine it has become a low
priority. Video games take a lot of time
an money to create. When they could not
get the source code for Armada 2 they
decided to make a new engine and game
from the ground up. That is a huge undertaking
for anyone to do in their "free time". I do not
mean to sound negative as I am a supporter of the
project but it has been about 4 years. They really
cannot ask for money because of copyrights
(kickstarter) I feel like its a near impossible task.
I know a lot of people will not like this post and
it might get me banned but their silence say a lot.

The FleetOps team is not developing the NX engine themselves; that's a separate group of people.

Yes, we are of course still working on bringing the community Fleet Operations on the NX platform :).

NX and EZ engine are integrated, but different components; we work with the EZ engine team, but the NX engine is our labor :).

Good to hear that after 3-4 years since last news post, something is still going on. I'll continue to check this site and lurk the forums periodically then.

BTW It wouldn't hurt to put a new (very short) news article out there saying something along this lines."It's been a while. We're still here and working on the game." This is so people don't need to go digging through forums to see when the last post was made by anyone related to the game development.
