Well, I read an article and there's this guy who says just contact me for the Star Trek gaming license. Maybe you can make Armada 3. You nearly totally remodeled Armada II. Why not create something from scratch and have it to be downloaded or sent by CD-R by yourself? It would cost $30 download, $40 for CD. Why not? I'd buy it.

After all, FO can be improved with a new engine... And Mad Doc won't come back for round 3.

Hi and welcome to the forums! ^_^

Well Fleet Operation as it is now can't be used for commercial purpose, cause we would also need a Star Trek licence.
Of course we have plans and ideas for many other interesting game concepts, but that's for the time after FO. First we want to finish this project and i think it will keep us busy for at least one or two more years. We still have so many interesting stuff to try out :)
Of course a cooperation with MadDoc and / or Activision would be excellent. Having the sourcecode would allow us much deeper environment changes and give us a complete new dimension of possibilities. Just look at Counter Strike for example. Sadly neither MadDoc nor Activision seem to be interested.

I think we got arround with the Armada limitations so far. We found some ways to implement new features (a trigger-based system, the v3 avatars and many more features to come in v4) that should be enough for this project. Somehow we arranged ourselves with the Armada2 modding limiations, although its very frustrating to remove a nearly completed feature cause it would not work as we want without sourcecode changes :)

Of course we are always happy if people support our work and help us with the steady costs we have with Fleet Operations ^_^

It's true. There's a guy you can contact. Anyway, why ask for a source code when you can make the source code of your own on a different platform.

Fleet Operations is the test like Desert Combat. Armada III is the real thing that you should be making.

By the way, you might want to hire a few more people once you start A3. The more help the better and no I'm not going to join you because I do not know programming, artwork, or professional voice acting. (No offense to anyone, but when I hear your voice actors: I nearly turn off my spearkers. It just doesn't seem right.)

Good luck Optec and DocAcola. You will have my $40 if you do finish Fleet Ops and begin a new project.

yep a star trek licence alone would not allow us to make fleet operations commercial. to make an armada 3 or sell fleet operations as an expansion pack you would require an aramda licence too (the rights for the aramda game are either on maddoc or - what i think - activisions side. and booth of them would not sell it. besides that we want to continue our current project first. programming a new game from sketch is a very hard job. we definitely want to try it once but not with Fleet Operations :)

Hm, there aren't many acted voices in beta2 :) most is armada2 stuff. I think we got better voicesets for v3 ^_^
