Hey just wanted to let you all know that I still support FO and everything you do. It is a shame that the people over at Filefront have made the decision to ban FO files, but some people have had it out for Fleetops for awhile.
Anyway, while its a loss to not have the exposure on their website, its still ok. There's always space available to host the files on.
Keep up the good work!

I thank you for your kind and gracious words. It warms our hearts to know that you, our staunchest ally, have not abandoned us. Moreover, we are overjoyed to have your support as always. You've never let us down before, so the Lord Strike Us Down should we ever show ourselves ungrateful ever again.
I'm sure this tragic and troublesome episode will soon be behind us, so that once again we can pursue FO in complete matrimony. Let us forgive, but never forget what we've been through together.

I was wondering is thare a way you could get the powers that be at file front to add FO back to the site but instead of hosting the file you have a disclaimer and a link to FOs site?

And what exactly would that accomplish? They're looking for a host to take the presumably considerable traffic off their shoulders once they release FO, and A2F already have a link to the FO homepage in their "Supported Mod" section...
Also, the order to delete FO from Filefront came from the higher ups, and you know why bureaucracy is infamous, don't you?

I umm what?
What I am tering to say is if they live the link as it was for Fleatops on the FF site. But in staid of hosting the file they just link to Fleetops web site.
This would make it easy for most people to find FO how may not know what it is and to lean about it.
By removing is as has bean done it makes it harder to find and lowers the publicity it should get in my option. Fleetops Pre is the most advanced Mod their is at this time for A2 for it not to be listed on A2 files make on scents to me seeing their are other options.
The link is a banner wich is good by why not keep it listed as a the other files are. With a disclaimer and making the DL section link to FOs site only.

Then they might as well host it on their site
The way it is now, no one can sue them because of any copyright infringement that may or may not be here, as soon as they link to a dedicated download page or a file this changes...
The way they see it, they're doing the FO team a favor by even linking to their HP...
Am I the only one who thinks this whole thread is missing the point and pretty much obsolete?

But the only why the copy right threat could heart them is if they host it if they don't host it and use the disclaimer the legal stuff is negated.
The point I am trying to get a cross is the in portents of having FO listed in the way if was prier to the copy right infringement threat came up.
The way it seems to some one how dos not know Fleetops is the fleetops is a sponsor of the site nothing more. theres no reason why one would a mod. By adding a legal disclaimer that removes all biz links between the 2 ors should do the trick. even if the link from the listed name brings them to a page with a banner would be preferbule to havening a non discrip banner on the right.

Any questions?
They tell you it's one of their featured mods...quite hypocritical of them, but whatever...like I said, the order to delete FO most probably came from the higher ups, so be glad for what you still have...
It's their right to delete stuff they think might give them trouble in the future...

I dont really know what this is supposed to mean. I have only watched FO for over 3 years and just wanted to let the modders know there are plenty of people who support them.

forgive? forgive what??? there is nothing to forgive. they have just no clue if the file they mean to be illegal really is illegal. and because they dont know they simply removed it to be on the save side. thats all.
btw. if you read the EULA of Armada 2 ANY change in ALL files of Armada 2 is illegal, even ODF's. So every mod out there is illegal stuff.

Excellent! As I said, I'm sure you have the warmest appreciations of the FO team for your whole-hearted support. Our support will never end, not now nor in the century to pass

That applies to any software out there...
In Germany, you technically don't have to agree to EULAs, since they are usually not printed on the softwares' packages and thus considered deceptive by our law...no one ever decided to sue one another because of it, though ^^
