Finding out which version of FO I have

Hello,
I am new to FO and installed a version of it a few days ago, I love the game and want to update it to the latest patch. I am looking to find out which version I have because I cant find the download file and noticed that the new patches only work with a certain patch.
Is there anyway when I load up the game that I can check to see which version?

hi and welcome
open fleetops with the shortcut on the desktop.
on the main menu (the first screen that appears) fleetops will display it's version directly beneath the exit button. and if your fleetops needs updating it will tell you.

you need to install the following two versions only:
Star Trek Armada II: Fleet Operations - Fleet Operations 3.2.3
then
Star Trek Armada II: Fleet Operations - Fleet Operations Patch 3.2.5
when installing 3.2.3 it will ask you to uninstall old version, do so.
when you are done installing both, you will have the latest fleetops.
you do not need to install anything lower than 3.2.3

heres the guide on getting online:
Getting Online - The Hitchhiker's Guide to Fleet Operations
dont worry about the gamespy/manual ip sections. just use tunngle.
basic process:
install it (download from tunngle.net)
get a tunngle account (also at tunngle.net)
fleetops is integrated with tunngle, so when you push the tunngle button in fleetops, it starts tunngle and sends you to the fleetops room.
you'll need to let fleetops and tunngle through your firewall.

the best way to check if its working is to try join a game, if u can get inside the game and see the map then everything's working and you dont need to do anything more.

This is the one part im having trouble with, "Games are created in the same manner as all the other VPN programs. Simply enter "Local Area Network" or click the "Internet-Tunngle" icon and create or join a game."
I cant see any LAN or I-T icon to join a game, a few of the people in the lobby said they made a game but I cant see a way to join.

hmm, could you link to that?
the lan option isnt used much any more. just go Main Menu -> Multiplayer -> Internet - Tunngle
that is basically the lan option, but if tunngle isnt running, fleetops will start it for you. then you get to the list of games. white means open, red is closed. yellow means different version (such as someone is using a mod).

no problem, if you're able to join a game then everything should be fine and there's no need for fiddling.
