Ray,
For anyone who has run a forum or web site knows the "on-line" guest are a combination of real peeps and goggle bots that comb the forums for key words and such.
Jan's remark was to reflect that.
Nothing more
KaBoom

When i was a gaming clan's forum admin a few years ago we also had such guest, tho not so many of them, but usually only one which called itself google search spider.
This is a lot bigger forum than that was, so having more of these bots is self explanatory.
Basically, these are bots, some sort of an AI which skims all the text and titles all over the forum, in every post and looks for keywords it thinks are important. Then it adds links and copyes about what it found to the google servers. That's how google finds things, when such a bot is done with a site, then whatever you type in google search which is on that site, google will give you a link to it.
i.e.: let's say you posted something about how to fix an issue you had with Armada2 giving error code DHF47SFBVB346S, and tough to post it here to help others. If others search for it with google, they will not find it, yet. But ocassionally google bots come to these forums, one of them finds your post and examines the important words, adds it to google's main database and boom, there you are. People can find your helping post from now on.
