FO - Some personal observations

While I was on holiday got to play FO a bit and came up with some "observations". Others can add here but let me just say, this isn't meant to be a thread for complaining or even praising, just simply personal observations and feelings, they may not apply to everyone, especially as my experiences are only against the AI.

General
Mixed tech is fantastic. I didn't realize the Dominion could make such awesome battleships. Fed with Rom or Dom mixed tech is pretty good.
Would like to one day play a game of Rom vs Klingon online, don't care which side i am on... will have to get online soon. thanks to cloaking can imagine its like chess on steroids.

Federation
Is it just me or do the ships look cartoonish compared with other races?
Still my favourite race.
Warp-in is great. Not overpowered but an essential part of the fed strategy. Nice and not-so-nice surprises to be had.

Dominion
Highly underestimated by many. A great race to play once you get over the prototype ships being research and additional considerations about supply.
Breen Avatar allows cloaking ships... which is nice.

Romulan
Originally one of my favorite races and kindof still is but to me seems like the "big" ships are not so effective compared with the "big" ships of other races (excepting that Tavara). Feel that you can survive was the Romulans without building the advanced shipyard and just building Leahval and Generix with some Serkas thrown in for building destruction.

Klingon
Funny I always though Martok was better but have come to the opinion that TaQ'roja is the better avatar, especially on smaller or low resource maps.
Originally found the supply system for klingons a pain, now can handle it.
Topmey rush is fun.

Borg
I love the borg in general how they are implemented but hate to play them. While i love the customization of ships etc, i find playing them just too tedious.

There is only one thing I can say about it. Play online! It's no match with AI games...

PS: We need to get rid of this AI...it gives ppl a wrong impression of FO imo.

Actually i disagree. The offline option is very important. If there wasnt an offline option i would never have got an interest in fleetops.

However, i do agree that playing against a thinking opponent must be a lot more fun. However, this is all offtopic.

Erm, no i don't although there may be another loki out there who does.

I've been scratching my balls over getting online for a while and think i will do soon once I get an evening free. If I am lucky either Yandoman or someone else will be online to record my humiliating defeat. :lol:
