Hello Guys, Just catching up

Its been years since I last poked my head in here and I'll honestly say I forgot I still had an account active here.
Anyway, I figured I'd let you guys know that since the last time I poked my head in here I went to College and I learned some C# and Java programming. Though honestly I feel much better at C# than Java. I dunno if it'd be of any use as a skill set but feel free to let me know.
I do have ideas on how to make a better Fleet Ops game having played other Strategy games I enjoyed. And I would not mind sharing them but I have no clue what direction the Developers are going in terms of game play. But I'll just put out one that I think would be most fitting.
Interactive Diplomacy Screens / Comm Channels
Inspired by Sid Meier's Civilization V
Concept: When in Multi-Player or Single Player game modes. When you want to interact with another faction (allied or not) you can open a Hail and have a Comm screen where you would see a 3D rendered version of the person's selected Avatar. You can request resources and the AI/Player behind that avatar may chose whether or not to agree and their choice will affect the response the avatar gives. You can also agree to trade control of ships saying, "I am going to hand over command of ships of the following Registries" and you select the ships. And the player/AI may also give some ships and the Avatar would say something similar.
Cease Fires can be negotiated with Players or AI that are not on the same team through these screens. And in Single Player modes these would allow one to have interactivity when playing through the story. Having some of the Star Trek Armada I feel of the communication screens but with more interactivity and more options.
Anyways, tell me what has been the latest going on here. And who knows I may reappear soon.

Tryptic's Mod, I've almost finished coding the AI and hotkeys. That's the most recent thing going on

With FO 4.0 binned in favour of from-scratch recoding in a new engine, there's very little news going on. The devs are on radio silence with respect to gameplay until Beta, and despite claims of "good progress" we have absolutely no idea when that might be. Could be six months, could be two years.
In the meantime, Tryptic's mod is about the only project with any signs of life. There is a group who was working on getting something workable with the bare-bones 4.0 loader the devs released (after pressure from people who had already coded mods in preview versions), but that had any updates in months.

Well I released v1.5 of KA2 EAW today, but I understand that's not really FleetOps related.

A2 mod, rather than FlOps? If the former, then that explains why you didn't post about it here.
