Which race do you like most? What do you like - what you don't like? Discuss it here.

Let's say I have my fleet selected, and I want to click on a ship that's damaged and going to repair to de-select it while keeping the rest of my fleet selected. So I have my fleet selected, and I [key]-click ship X, and now I have the fleet, minus ship X, selected. Which key does this??

SHIFT+Click on unit icons will deselect them!

Heheheh, do you know that every RTS uses a similar system?

Sheesh, nubz!

not even close. eg windows explorer uses control for toggle selection of individual items, and shift for selecting ranges.

also lets not gang up on the player asking questions that we think are basic, at one time, all of us asked these sorta questions.

You know... vanilla Armada II doesn't have it. Which in turn highlights the outstanding system of Armada II and the incredible care Mad Doc had for multiplayer. There's also no match for the incredible net code!

*irony off*

Thanks devs...

Actually both Armada 1 and II have it :)

one thing vanilla a1 lacked though was the ability to click empty space to deselect ships. that was so annoying, you had to use a drag box to deselect your ships, or push a number key.

Oh right! I confused it. I meant the ability to press shift + 1 to add one ship to the task force 1. It was only possible to frame the whole group again including the new ship for the task force.

I thought this was added with the latest patch when reading this thread here. Ever since I have not tried to use this way of adding a ship to a task force... I assume it's not working, right?

Nah, that's all untouched Armada II stuff as I understand it :). What's been changed is how many ships you can select. Armada 1 also had the ability to have one ship in multiple control groups - an interesting, though semi-confusing system  :sweatdrop:

i think that would have made an interesting user set option. once you get your head around the idea of a ship being in mutliple numbered groups, it isn't that bad if you wanted the option.

That would probably be the bug that seemed to think ships were bigger than they really were (sometimes).

100% sure. clicking on empty space never deselects ships in a1. left click is select ships or implement orders after pushing a button to change the cursor (eg attack), right click is issue move/attack/mine/context orders so would never be for deselecting ships.
