How do you gain supply as feds

i was playing a game and ran out of supply. how do i get more so i can produce more ships?

Umm, you can buy more supplies at your starbase, all races accept borg can do that.

Click the build option (at the Starbase), and it is the supply logo at the far right in the GUI

Couldnt't Feds get a 'trading' station where periodically, a ship enters it and deposits some supplies?
