How is Area Damage Calculated?

Can someone explain me how the Area Damage is actually calculated?

mostly because i would like to know what dmg is done. So i know how much dmg i can expect from a ship before i build and test it

just like normal damage, derived from offensive value

to be more exact: if i fre a area weapon in a bunch of ships, how much dmg will the ships take ... :crybaby:

If you mean the Serkas-type, then anything in the centre should take full damage with others taking reduced damage the further they are from the explosion.
