Name pronunciation

How do you pronunce some of the FO ship names? Specificaly, things like the Topmey, K'beajQ & Rhienn Classes.

Well i have a british accent so i would do it as so.

Rhien = Rhien or rain

topmey = tomey

K'beajq = k'beaq

If your on team speak ill randomly says these so you can have a laugh.

Here's how I pronounce them (capital first letter indicates stress on syllable):

Rhienn=Ree-in

Topmey=Tawp-Mei

K'BeajQ=kuh-bee-Awdjk, kuh-Byawdjk, or kuh-Byedjk

EDIT:Maybe I should follow Gamer's example and expand this post a bit.

Leahval=lei-vawl, Lei-Uh-vawl

Generix=djuh-Neir-ix, dje-ne-Rix

Qaw'Duj=kwah-Duj (french j)

Noq'Duj=nok-Duj (french j)

Tavara=tuh-Vawr-uh

Vor'cha=Vor-chuh

Sang=sawng

Eresis=ee-ree-Sees

Cehlaer=Sei-lair (not lai-uhr, the elimination of the uh leads to something that makes me sound like I have a Scottish accent)

Yandonman and I now use the correct pronunciation for the Rhienn (REE-en) and the K'beajq (Koo-beh-dge).  At least I hope it's right.  Otherwise Dom has a lot of explaining to do! >:(

i would have pronounced
Rhienn as Rain
Topmey as Top me

rhienn is obvious as ree-enn

That way of saying Rhienn is actually why I'm curious about how others say them, since I say it like the first part of Rhino.

that would be consistent with the german pronounciation of the river Rhein, but i think ree-en sounds more romulan.

k'beajQ is probably the worst, its so difficult to pronounce. i always say quebec, its much easier lol

Actually.... Quebec sounds the most like what it is.  its that j in there that doesn't seem to make sense. 

I would either say Rhienn as 'Ry-ien'(Ri-een.  Ri like rice and een like bean.)  or 'Ree-énn'(ree like Breen and énn as in end )

Yup, I sent Mal a pronunciation guide for Klingon and Romulan ships based on the rules for Klingon (it is a "real" language afterall), and how Romulan is supposed to sound like Latin, but more full  ^-^ . I can hunt around and try to replicate it, or if he has it, he's more than welcome to post it

hmmmm so with the klingon it would be more like Kay-Beck!(the ck sound with a flem like guttural sound )

and romulan would be maybe more like Ry-énn.  lol Ryan...

Edit:  oh and topmey I think Toph-mey(kinda blowing out on the ph)  I think that sounds more like Latin.

No, I don't think either of those are correct . Kaaaah (as in "ah") Be (as in you betcha'!) dj (the sound a D and J make when they are together  )

Ryan sounds like Rye- anne . Rhienn sounds like "Reeeeeeeee"(longer E ) "N" .
