hi everybody,
this is my first post and i am really sorry for my bad english!
I love fleetops! This is aramda how it should be!
And so, I have an idea:
In the movies or series, whenever there is a fleet, this fleet is controlled by an admiral.
So why is in fleetops nothing like this?
For Example: You start with your outpost and on this outpost, there is the admiral first.
The Outpost becomes more powerfull with better defensiv and offensiv power.
There is also an "Beambutton" only for the Admiral and you can transfer this admiral to every ship you want.
This ship becomes automatically the rank of a veteran and will become a little bit faster than normal and every ship within the range of the admiral ship becomes allthough more powerfull.
The Outpost or the ship loose their rank and become normal after the admiral is on an other ship or station.
When you are in a fight and it looks like you loose, you can beam the admiral on an fast ship to bring him out of the fight and back to your station.
How do think about this?
Greetings, Dr. Wolf

FO fleets are controlled by the Player, who is the 'Admiral' selected.

the "admiral" is just like an special. The fleets are still controlled by the player, but the "admiral ship" and the ships in the range of this admiral ship are more powerfull than the same fleet without an admiral ship.

Sounds kinda similar to Yandonman's Cadets idea.
Way I see it, it is the Avatar you select at the beginning that is the Admiral/Commander of the fleet. Would be nice to see him/her in a more active role tho, either with something similar to this suggestion, or just their personal flagship, however this will likely only ever happen in a campaign setting.

I was actually going to post a topic related to that a flagship more powerfull than normal ships of its kind that give bonuses to ships around it.

I personally don't like the idea of having a "hero" ship. I think it would change gameplay too much. because people would focus on protecting it, and everything else would become a secondary objective.

No i dont mean a hero ship i mean things like your first vet ships becoming the flagship and giving bonuses to ships around it or within its fleet number, it would add something different to the game.

I'd like better formation settings, the first ship in the list being the point of the wedge, the top right of the square, or the first in line.

What does this have to do with the Admirals in fleetops?

I might be wrong, but isn't that what vet ships do already, their area-effect passive abilities?

nope. vets get bonuses for themselves usually. i dont think there are any vets which give bonuses to nearby ships.

AOE passives? I may be wrong but I thought all AOE abilities required special energy or supply, thus not really being passive...

It was more on the flagship part of it. Which is what the first ship would be.

it is possible to make almost any weapon work without special energy.

Its an interesting idea, but shouldnt it be in the idea feature request section instead of general?
