Playing Singleplayer

Hi,

I can't seem to find infos on how to play the single player campaign.

As it seems to be removed, i added 4. single_player_campaign_improved_ver2_0 into the data folder.

But can't figure out, how to get going.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Fleet Operations doesn't have a single player campaign, unfortunately. Just too much content was added/changed to support the old one, and with a multiplayer focus in mind a campaign was never added. You can look on here for the Armada II classic mod though, which allows you to play classic Armada II through Fleet Ops (allowing it to run on newer computers) and that has the original A2 campaign.

So going for A2 CLassic, ( A2-FO.2.zip ) and then probably, I guess, Single Player Campaign Improved ( single_player_campaign_improved_ver2_0.zip ), it will overwrite current Fleet Ops files ? So multiplayer is will not be possible anymore?

is the Update ( a2upgrade14.exe ) required?

You have to create a new folder in FleetOps' Data Folder and call it Mods then you add Mods here including the Armada II Classic Mod. Then these are all accessible through FleetOps through the Options Menu going down to a new option that comes up because of the Mods folder: Mod Settings. There you select the mod you want to play, in this case the Armada II Classic Mod.

This doesn't get rid of FleetOps at all so Multiplayer FleetOps is still 100% available.

One thing to keep in mind, there is a mission in STA2 Classic that requires you to use the trade menu, but the Fleet Ops UI removed the trade menu button. In order to continue the campaign you have to use the trade menu hotkey, which I currently forget but I'll update this post when I find it.
