Question for assigning ships to fleets

Which race do you like most? What do you like - what you don't like? Discuss it here.

I'm not sure if this is possible, and I just forgot how to do it, or if I just didn't pay close enough attention to the tutorials, maybe its something you cant do altogether... but I was wondering about how to assign ships into a pre-existing fleet.

So let's say I built an initial fleet of 8 ships with a few Ktingas, Kbeajqs and Kvorts or what have you, and sent them to attack an expansion, while continuing to build additional better ships, like more kvorts, and qawdujs, and vorchas/vutpas.

If the fleet of Ktingas etc. is fleet one, is there a way of assigning my newly built qawduj to fleet one without dragging my cursor over all the ships. At the moment all I do is send the new ship to where my fleet is, then when its there, I just scroll over them and remake the fleet.

It would be convenient perhaps to have a hotkey, or a button somewhere for ships to 'Join Fleet X'.

If there is already such a command, could someone fill me in? All I know for making fleets is 'select group of ships' and hit 'control + #'. But nothing about how to select my Neghvar, and tell it to go join my big fleet halfway across the board and then just not have to worry about it, and keep giving my fleet orders. If I send the fleet elsewhere, the Neghvar will just know to do the same, and it won't keep going to a place where my fleet has long left, and perhaps is not a safe place to be sending my ship anymore.

help?

Using Hotkeys - The Hitchhiker's Guide to Fleet Operations

cliffsnotes version:

if you want all ships from a yard to enter a fleet, use control+# for that yard.

if u want to add a ship to a fleet you can either:

select the fleet with the number, hold shift and click on the new unit to add the unit to the selection, push control+# to set the fleet.

or

just select the ship and push control+shift+#
