Recording Fleet-Ops Games

Which race do you like most? What do you like - what you don't like? Discuss it here.

How do I record games in Fleet-Operations?  I've tried several screen recording software to record other games besides Star-Trek Armada, but none of them have a good framerate and fleet-ops doesn't have a good framerate on my computer as it is.

fraps seems to consume the least resources on my machine, some other people say camstudio is faster. but for me personally camstudio is slower.

if both of them slow your computer down too much then its doubtful your machine has enough muscle to pull off recording.

u can try lower the resolution, youtube now allows 2 HD modes, 1920x1080 and 1280x720, i run fleetops in 1280x720 and that uploads fine to youtube. so if a high resolution is slowing you down, switch to a lower one.

u could optimise your system, do all the standard TLC tasks like defrag and check what runs in the background etc.

if u are not that bothered about visual themes (stuff like aero) u can disable them to get back speed.

reformat your computer will increase speed.

upgrade your computer will guarantee more power.

Fraps will only record 30 seconds at most and cam studio, well, I forgot how well it does, but I don't think it does well on my system.  I think I'll try XFire.

UPDATE:  XFire is out of the question.

FRAPs is only 30 seconds when you are using the trial.

try getting the full version of fraps :) it works well for me.

but if your computer is having trouble with just fo then having a recorder running at the same time will probably not work unless u can get your computer working faster.

I used both Fraps (full) and Xfire, can recommend those. But I also got a high-end machine, so...
