Romulan Idea

I just thought of an awesome idea for the Romulans. I just saw Star Trek XI on Friday, (IT WAS AWESOME!) and I have always been a huge fan of the Narada. I also bought the comic Star Trek Countdown, and really want to get Star Trek: Nero. I was just thinking D'Spal at the vault spoke of upgrading the entire Romulan fleet with the Borg reverse engineered thingys. What if there was an avatar where D'Spal was the fleet admiral, and the Vault is the starbase, and shipyard. The normal minning vessels are the Narada before being upgraded, and an armed advanced ones are her 6 mile long upgraded form. The rest of the fleet gets progressivly stronger, but are crazy expensive and take forever to build. Thus, the entire avatar revolves around getting tons and tons of resources, and then researching to make mile long superpowerful upgraded versions of normal Romulan vessels. I don't have any modding programs, but if someone likes my idea, I would love if they made it! What do you guys think?

In terms of balancing I don't think it would, I liek it though. But also bare in mind Fo is set in a somewhat alternate timeline, to what XI is. Romulus is still alive and kicking in FO's 24th century

I think 1 Borg Collective is enough, without the Romulans trying to copy them.

Ah yes the alternate timeline thing, (wonderful for explaining fanon really!) but still, why wouldn't the Romulans upgrade their ships with the technology anyway? Maybe to give them an edge against the Feds and Klingons. Or the Borg. To balance them, just make the ships take forever to build, and maybe give them some small arcs of fire. Those "scatter-spread" torpedoes as I call them are awesome! They could even target two or three ships with just one torp.

You can't just dump another races tech on your ships and expect it to work... it takes a lot of time and effort just to make it compatible, assuming you can even do that. Just because they could turn the Nirada from a mining ship to the non-super Cloak equipped Scimitar, doesn't mean they can do that for all ships.

Sticking with the mixed-tech woulsd be best.

the romulan empire does not condone overhaul's with out extensive testing plus i disagree with refitting mining vessels for war plus st 11 is a alternate timeline please don't mix the two

ST XI is an alternate timeline, but the Narada is from the original. I think the Romulans would be able to outfit all of their ships to use as "Naradas" and the mining ships are just so that they can have the good shields and defend themselves from attack. I think that they would be a cool addition. Or, maybe have a mission where there are some rotten Naradas around, and must be destroyed. Maybe I can find someone to do it for me. Anyone want to volunteer? I would be really happy.

Keep in mind that the Fleet Operations timeline isn't necessarily in sync with the Narada's original timeline either.
