I think all it is is just a last few minute testing. If no apperent issues are found it could be as early as next week ("when it's done").

how about you tell us that you are _____% done till the next version comes out and then we can all be happy!

They are 99.9999999998% done ... the bad news is that it's an exponential regression... it'll never be done!

Jokes aside, they've given almost definitive release dates a few times in the past - just not since Beta 2.
You are absolutely correct though, this is a useless thread, and everybody should just be patient. I understand that there isn't a lot of information dissemination between the forum population and the team in terms of "what goes on behind the scenes" or "where the patch is" - but you can be absolutely sure that all the members are working quite a bit to get the next version released (as always), and they want to release it just as much as we want it
. Remember, good things come to those who wait . And even if you don't wait, it'll still come - so don't worry

No such thing as a useless thread imo ... except all those Galaxy threads ...
I started it just because I was curious if they could ballpark it for those of us who love to play Klingon. Again, my SELFISH curiosity was just so I could decide whether to spend time mastering a feasible Klingon playstyle in this patch or whether I should just wait. If it were ballparked to be 6 months I'd definitely keep on working hard, but if it were closer to 1 or 2 then I would relax and go to my glorious Klingon death.
So everyone just calm down and be silly

Hehe, I don't think either of us meant the "useless" comment in a mean way (at least I can speak for myself and say that I did not ). I believe it is safe to say you can expect it within the time frame of your second estimate
