bit of an odd question mebbe... but what ships do u actually fear when playing the game?

the one ship that you DONT want your opponent to build... or maybe the ship you just cant beat?


I hate the Dom T15s because those constant bug attacks mean that you cant really get ships bigger than destroyers. :

really random i know :P

omfg, whinning!
1. of all YOU mass, baron masses to counteract
2. you don't fear the federation? you really should.
3. i fear nothing, but i do find bops and k'vorts annoying, since the federation has no cheap and effective ship to counteract, monsoons get slaughtered against k'vorts easily, akiras are too expencive and unafective to mass against and the klingons can spit ships out of their yards like there's no freaking tomorrow.

Now to anwser the question, I prolly fear shrike the most since IMO its the best destroyer any race can build straight away. And by a large margine at that -.-
I dont mind it tho, everything has a counter in FO and so does the shrike ;)

If you want to go race by race Ill go like this:
Dom: no ship really, all easily countered. But if I had to choose 1 Id go for the bug :)
Feds: Defiants and as Adil said, Norway but again that can be avoided
Roms: Shrikes and Generixes (support cause it can fire 12 plasma bolts when it should only be able to fire 1 -.- and frigates)
Klingons: Kvorts, cause if your not careful they can really hurt u ;)

well yeah the plasma coil can be avoided but you know as well as i that to do so you need to dance your ships and in a large scale battle a fleet of Norways using plasma coil can do alot of Area of effect damage

Hmm, hard to chose.. I think i would most probably pick the Phalanx cause i usually like playing with smaller units and the magnan phaser is not destroyers best friend -.-

the wrong energy costs for the plasma bolt special ability has been fixed by the way :blush:

Phalanx is good, but its helpless vs destroyers lol cause if someone comes to your base with 3 destroyer groups a phalanx or 2 wont make any difference ;)
Now I know why destroyers are so strong in this game, Optec prefers them :P

well, since the federation has i bet the worst destroyers of all, it needs something cheap and effective to counter bops, k'vorts and shrikes and bugs. :hmmm:

the cost and the the special energy consumption should be increased perhaps, but it's the federations only effective way with dealing with mass, short of defiants, which you can never build enough to stop klingons, dominion or romulans.

yeah im not saying get rid of it

all im saying is yeah ur right the special energy and cost should be increased

But i also say it shoudlnt be THAT effective against masses of ships

Yep the strenght SHOULD be decreased cause 8 of them simply destroy groups of ships in a matter of seconds and dont damage your own.

Or a better thing would be to decrease the area of affect for this thing, cause right now its pretty damn big.


Oh and dont talk bs that feds cant stand the mass of dominion bugs. The only prob the feds have is with ships that have pulses :P
