What happens when you go back to stock (w or w/o mods)

Played stock (with mods) on holiday... OMFG.... here is a timeline of my feelings.

Start: WTF do i do???
1 minute: Wow!  Things build fast. 
2 minutes: How many miners do i need per moon? 
3 minutes: Build first research center. 
4 minutes: Crapola... i need lantinum, completely forgot about that. 
5 minutes: great, i've got a fleet. 
6 minutes:  
7 minutes: dead. 
8 minutes: quit and load up fleet ops.

My experience was like that, but at minute 6, all my steamrunners warp in, fire a volley at the center of their fleet, and warp out just after I see their entire fleet in pieces.
