Which Is More Important, Winning Or Having Fun?
Which race do you like most? What do you like - what you don't like? Discuss it here.

For me, I'd rather play a good game without exploiting errors and glitches or unbalanced stuff. I still like winning and stuff, but I'm cool with failing miserably too so long as it wasn't a total slaughter.
Notably, this doesn't strictly apply to Fleet Ops (I was thinking of SSBM and First Person stuff when I said it), but I think it's still kind of interesting. Also, have you ever noted times where you could win by a huge margin and still have fun, because I never really have (had fun, not won by an obscene, 20- negative 7 margin). The important bit is, I guess, this: Is it more important to gain an edge over your competition or just to beat them in a close battle of skill and tactics?
For SSBM players out there, here's an example of my favorite match type: A one-on-one, no items, three-four life battle in the old Kirby's Island (large with platforms). I'm using Samus, and my foe is either Needle with the Ice Climbers/Doctor Mario or Spaz with Yoshi. Both of them wave dash like crazy, pulling off spikes and combos and juggles, while the most advanced I get is edge guarding with bombs, hyper aerial combat, or super missile spam. It sounds a bit one-sided, I know, but I still usually win. I've been wondering why, and I think there's two reasons: One- I get completely focused on the game and don't have to think about my tehniques anymore. Two- I have a controller I'm intimately familiar with, like my keyboard and screen over here. I know it's every tic and bit of responsiveness (same thing with the Xbox one).
Conclusion: What do you think about exploiting to win, and does it actually make the game more fun if you play it as it was meant to be played?

I play mainly FPS (have done for 7 years) and the issue of winning over fun crops up alot... but its always been simple for me... winning is fun =) losing generally aint, if you put in the work to win, you will be disappointed when you lose, if you dont put in the work, but still manage to draw some kind of satisfaction or fun from the game (which is rare from my experience) then i guess it could be fun only... but id still take winning every time, because its satisfying to win... and therefore usually fun
But anyway, how often is something fun? not often afaik i played 3 matches last week and they were all great fun... but ive played over 2100 matches in 7 years and i'd say a VERY small minority of them have been truly fun, and ive won probably 2000 of them =)
For me i guess its more about avoiding the feeling u get when u lose : when you win you feel satisfied, when you lose you feel kinda shite...
and occasionally fun pops up to pay us a visit =)
so for me, winning.
Conclusions Answer: I dont like exploiting, its a grey area and is best left untouched... =) if you deserve to win, you win without exploiting

well, we created rules against spamming destroyers and exploiting bugs, so that kind of answeres your question there.

i love fps games, but i'm more of a sniper. i take time to aim, and fire off a shot or two at a time. and for some reason even my own teammates start to dislike me. noone likes a good sniper, that much is for sure. I’m a counter strike fanatic.

I am usually satisfied if its a good game, that said nothing can take the joy out of winning in style

aye i love winning but don't mind losing. a fun game i had once was where me and my team mates exploited the federation Starfleet Command loophole - build descents and give them to a team mate but even then that doesnt always work but makes for a fun game win or lose!

well, i did that on one or two occasions, but i prefer not to do it, couse than the depressed loosing team argues that i/we cheated and so on and so on...

Although winning is always fun, with FO I can still pull out a fun match even if I do get slaughtered.
Thumbs up to the FO team for making A2 into a decent game!!
