Well guys im looking through the guide, and its alot of info thrown at you, and im thinking, maybye its too detailed, maybye the description need to be smaller,

so i thought, what we could do is use some diagrams for instance for feds

it could be

                _ construct_ shipyard
starbase < -miner, miner , miner
                - Construct -Mining

i know theres other programs out there for diagrams, like bubble diagrams, flow charts and such, i would just think it might give a helpful visual, and at each step maybye a helpful hint above the diagram so for instance

(hint: when using moonsoon, be sure to reserch special and use on small ships such as brel)
                            (picture of moonsoon)
                                Moonsoon
Construct -- shipyard<
                                Intrepids
                              (picture of intrepid)
(hint: the intrepids torpedo special, in large number can be used as a very succesful artilery barage, against ships or stations such as mining)

im just thinking a approach that combines more visuals with writing, would make it easier to read and understand in a fun, organized, helpful way

tell me what you think....

Well, the current strategy sections are all out of date (as indicated by the red thingie when you first start reading them). Everything else is of course up to date though :)

That being said, there will be some changes that will focus around less detailed information. However, because of the way Fleet Ops is evolving (and it will continue to evolve in such a manner - even more so than now), having a static build order is not hugely useful. (I can't just say build Intrepids - I have to say, "Build Intrepids when you see Leahvals being produced" etc).

That's why all the ship specific information was moved to the Unit Analysis, because that lets you know which ships can do what in a very detailed fashion. The normal strategy guides will have that information excised, and more list the build order, as well as what ships to produce versus what and when. That means that the early, mid, late game order will be maintained somewhat, and specific info against each faction will be maintained (to allow you to streamline your build order).

A diagram with pictures like you suggest would be actually quite feasible, and much easier for me to write then my current huge "block typing" (and probably clearer now that I think about it). I hadn't actually thought of simplifying it in that direction - as I tend to overcomplicate things  :D . If other people would like that better for the quick and dirty information (rather than reading through complete phrases all the time) it can definitely be arranged.

Great idea Ray (though wrong forum) :)

haha, thanks dom, im not saying that any information needs to be lost, but the picutes and diagrams can help to eliminate some of the words, and then descriptive captions and stuff can be added

Nope, just tech trees etc :) (those will be re-added again of course, once the proper stuff is in place  ^-^ )
