Now that Plasma Conduit is shaping up to be a good map, I've started work on its sister map, Plasma Decay. This includes a few tweaks made to Plasma Conduit itself to make the transition better. I'll start with those:
Plasma Conduit 0.8
-moved the center start positions closer to the middle of the map. Their moons remain unchanged
-moved the damage nebula in as well. As a result, the green nebula patches are now much closer to the wing players' bases.
-Yes, you can now fly ships in the space behind the bases. Yes, this is freaking awesome, but I don't know how often people will use it. The pathing works fairly well, but it'll take some practice before you're ready to send in a fleet.
Now, for the new stuff. From the very beginning, I wanted Plasma Decay to be more open and encourage somewhat longer games. I was planning to remove several moons in addition to the nebulas, but now I don't think it will be balanced. Instead, I simply tweaked the middle positions so they are much easier to defend and much easier to launch attacks from:
The result will be that Plasma Conduit will encourage 2 battles on the sides, with the middle players supporting the wings, while Plasma Decay is built for one big battle in the middle, with the wing players supporting the middle player's firebase. The corner moons were removed to encourage people to work together in the middle.
The green nebulas are all gone, but in return there is a lot more empty space behind the bases so raiding is still an option.
So yeah, get out there and start playing em, guys! Let me know if you have any suggestions for the layout.

That's up to the devs. I was pleasantly surprised to see the original Plasma Conduit included in this patch, even though I received mostly bad feedback for it.
Actually, it looks like there'll be a lot of good new maps that should go in the next patch and it'll be easy to get the files since they're all stored on the Video Database. So I really need to do some commentaries on these maps and get them into the system

You gonna redo the 4 player version as well?

Well, first I'm going to ask who made the 8-player version, because it wasn't me and they didn't exactly ask my permission to do it
Then... I don't know. I've been thinking hard since yesterday about whether an 8-player version of this map would really work. While I'm glad that somebody liked my map enough to try to expand it, the map they made isn't balanced.

Oh, i thought it's made by you. Actually it's quite playable and fun, and follows your attempt of different pathways and lock downs - would be nice to see a new 8 player version of it, by you or the stranger
