Boggz has been busy today.  And by that I mean I have done so little today that I found time to re-do Final Frontier, make This is No Cave!, and play some games on top of that.  Woof ...

So let's all place this quote (it ain't hard ... :D).

  "The cave is collapsing!"

  "*Insert Map Name Here*"

  "Wha-?"

If you can't place that, Boggz will down-size your face with a shovel.

THIS IS NO CAVE!:

Players: 4
Arrangement:  2 vs. 2  OR  1 vs. 1
Dimensions:  12500 x 12500 (Small-Medium)
Moons:  2 exp for each side.  They will be fought over.
Nebulae:  Small pockets here and there.  Green and Purple only.
Wormholes: None.

HISTORY and PURPOSE:

No history.  No purpose.  I wanted to make an "inside" map kind of like Borderlands that made you feel like you were fighting in a cave!  The lighting is set to reflect that as well.  There are also a few tiny spots where very small ships (include constructors) can slip through the larger Asteroid clusters ... so keep your eyes open.  There are also small patches of nebulae here and there, some of which are accessible and other that are just for eyecandy :).

This is a SKIRMISH map.  This is small, the corridors are tight, and the action should happen very quickly.  There are multiple ways into your opponent's bases (as always) so don't think you can turtle yourself up and get away with it.  Rommies and Dommies will likely see trouble as of 3.1.1 as they are not early-game factions and this map will likely push them hard.

  Best of luck!

Good work! I'm liking the use of asteroid passage ways. I used a few of those on Tau Ceti too but didn't mention it at the time :D.

  Lol, well done, sir!

I tried to name it: "Asteroids Do Not Concern Me, Admiral" but the editor didn't seem to like that :D.

And here's I'd think you'd choose something simpler... such as ... Don't be too proud of this technological terror you've constructed! The ability to destroy a [map] is insignificant next to the... Boggz!

"Look at him.  He's heading for that small moon"

"I think I can get him before he gets there. He's almost in range."

"Hey!  Whadda ya know!  It is a moon! :woot:  And those ships are mining resources from it." :sweatdrop:

"I have a very bad feeling about this."

So guys I'm wondering if people would like to see this map expanded a bit.  I wanted to keep it on the smaller scale of things but I've been hearing that people think the map might be a bit on the small side.

The middle especially is causing people discomfort because each team has a player that has to expand centrally and they central moon pairs are relatively close.

  What do you guys think?

Yeah, expand it, and maybe move the middle moons to the right and left a bit, respectively.  It definitely creates some fast games, but it creates too much focus on the center.

Aye, I'll see if I can do that tonight.
