Hi again everyone. I'm sorry to pollute the forum with this but I have tried repeatedly and failed to create a mini-map for a map I just made. It's the first time I tried to make a map and it came out fine but no matter what I do the mini-map preview image is just completely black. I followed the guide's instructions but I guess I'm doing something wrong cause it just isn't working. Any help would be appreciated, thank you guys.

I will assume you are talking about basic A2, as as far as I am aware the FleetOps map editor makes its own minimap files :)

Basically, heres what I did to make them for KA2;

When in the map editor, move your cursor down to the lower left corner of the map so the "area trapezoid" shape is no longer visible in the minimap. Take a screenshot. Paste this in your image editor of choice. Crop the area so just the minimap remains. Then resize this image to 160 x 160 pixels. Save as a bmp file with the same name as your BZM file, in the BZM folder. For example, if your map was ka2_ypres.bzm, name your bmp ka2_ypres.bmp.

hay, im still trying to get that right, but i seem to remember that what you should do is move your screen view to one of the top corners (so the minimap doesnt show where your screen is looking.. so obviously anyway, might show abit)

then press "esc"
save the map
exit and reload and overright it again (i think you have to save it again)

i think that should get you something :thumbsup:

edit, im referring to fleet ops

Okay I was using fleetops and it wasn't automatically making them, so I tried that save thing hellodean said and it didn't work. Still no preview image. So I tried what Squire James said and it worked. I had to overwrite a black .png image that was in the bzn folder. I wonder why the auto-feature just made a black image? Anyway it only took a couple of minutes to do manually. Thanks guys :)
