As some problems with FPQ Edit during file extraction were reported, here now a snapshot of the FPQ Edit dev version for testing.

Download

To use, just extract somewhere and run. Usually FPQEdit.exe is located in the Data of your Fleet Operations installation.
Please report back with your experiences of the dev version.

finally got round to testing the beta fpqedit, i still get no crash, but the extraction doesnt complete.

system: win7 ultimate x64

beta fpqedit.exe is in a subfolder of my user desktop.

odf.fpq is in fleetops stock position.

uac is disabled.

whether extracting 1 file or all, i right click then "extract to", then i select another subfolder of my desktop and the files are extracted to a folder in my %temp% floder and not moved to the selected location.

no error messages are given by fpqedit

ive never had a problem with FPQedit at all....very odd that some people do and some people don't... What has changed with this verison? I can extract and save and edit and do it all with no problem.. im also using WinXPSP3

Just downloaded the developer version..trying to use it on my work machine.. which is Win7 and the program doesn't let me exit out..it says "can't write to c:documents/appdata yadda yadda fpqedit.ini" and refuses to exit out..i had to ctrl+alt+delete to get it to exit out... very interesting..yet the regular version works perfectly fine

Unfortunately it still doesnt work. It extracts without crashing but when I go to the folder I extracted to there are no files. I tried several locations with no luck. Sorry to be a pain.  :(

It might just be easier than to fix this for one person to just include a zip file of all the odfs in the next release.

doca redid the extraction method. it used to cause crashes for some people independent of operating system, some had crashes, some didnt. it's an open bug in the bug table. its down as fixed as doca says the new extraction method has removed the crash.

this change is visible in fpqedit as the old extraction method had a yellow progress bar in the bottom left corner, the new (beta) bar appears in a dialog box and uses the system progress bar style.

i think i had this issue, doca has updated the beta download. the files got extracted to a folder in %temp% and didnt get moved to the final destination.

@Lt.Cmdr Worf
yes, it was a system specific bug. i only could replicate it on another test system, not on my main machine. other than the bug fix for this problem, the beta includes more minor tweaks and bug fixes

@Majestic
strange. you sure you used the version i uploaded today?

Is the odf.fpq read only by chance? :blush:

Yes I did, I just re-downloaded and tried again to make sure.

Nice idea, but it wasn't a read-only file.
