Progress report for the Borg:

The port of all the Borg vessels buildable by the Assimilation Matrix is complete. The port of all Borg non-mixed-tech and non-AI stations is complete. The port of all Node Levels and Collective Features is complete and Features Limit remains enforced. Borg Scout Cube port is complete for all variants. I was even able to delete a few ODF files without effecting gameplay.

Currently, we are just trying to make sure that all of the 3.2.7 units work in 4.0.0 just as they did in 3.2.7. Once that is done, we will work on an alternate Shared Tech, technology tree to demonstrate what will be possible when NX is released.

I estimate that I'm now about 75% complete on the Borg faction. I have almost 900 lines of code in the Borg's techtree file, some of which I may transfer to the global techtree file. I have the Diamond and the Cube to enter into the techtree, both should take about 50 lines of code plus Collective Feature weapons. I may also be able to save a few more ODF files. Then comes the task of removing/renaming entries in each of the weapon ODF files. Good thing nothing is being added.

lol yh i know what you mean these feds are taking longer than planned due to real life things should be finished by next weekend tho if nothing else crops up

Well, I'm finished with the Borg technology tree (except for the mixed-tech units). Here are is what I did to the ODFs so far:

AI Units that have been renamed:
bor_uplink_AI
bor_assi_matrix_AI (so that the player cannot build a fully-upgraded base for the price of an un-upgraded base)
bor_dodeca_relayR_AI
bor_resource_node_AI

Other changes:
bor_assi_matrixA (what is placed after you select your avatar)
bor_assi_matrix (what you build with your construction ship)

You will need to change the weapon (and repair ship?) ODFs to match and I'll change the Borg weapon ODFs to match whatever you have done to the ODF files, though for now, I'll just assume that you've done with the Federation base exactly what I've done with the Borg base.

Also, I've found that for mixed tech:
fac_yard_fac (built by captured construction ship)
fac_yard_facA (built by own construction ship)

I will be taking a break tomorrow and I do have a few other "projects" that I must get done.

ok so im using the nvidia dds plugin for photoshop cs6 and im struggling getting the bump map settings right the normal texture seams fine but when turn bump maps on they get messed up
Anyone know what the best settings would be to fix this?

Perhaps try inverting the colors. Other than that, I don't know what to say.

I noticed that all the shield bubbles are far too small. How do we increase the size of the shields so that they cover the entire ship?
