One thing I don't understand is....... what made him leave? Does he have some big mod planned that he is trying to get out to the communities?

From what I gathered, he just got tired of FO :(

I didn't think it was even possible :innocent:

"Sayonara, this is sort of my (official) goodbye post, it's been (mostly) good talking with you guys!
"

This message might include a possible reason to why he left.

this all happened months ago, this thread will probably be locked soon, unless someone wants to take over the project and keep it active.

Aspects of the project - the ODF commands, calculating unit values - have been moved to the guide, but the 'ODF-maker' is much too far out of my league. I don't think the thread should be locked until there is no interest whatsoever in the project, or it has become completely out of date due to tools being released (either officially, or unofficially). :)

There's quite a lot of valuable information in his modding guide, and most of it is still up to date.

The first post on this thread, by RCIX, mentions his "RCIX's Small Book of Modding". Is this still available somewhere?

I'd like to dip my toes into modding FO (in a very tiny, very unambitious manner), and at the moment I am completely lost.

If RCIX's modding book is unavailable, is there one by anyone else? I could use all the help I can get.

Thank you.

Still appears to be downloadable on the first post as an attachment :) . RCIXs modding guide is 4 years out of date, although the program should still (mostly) work. It's not an introductory level guide though, as it was based on some Fleet Ops specific commands.

Our most comprehensive guide can be found here :).
