I'm making a mod that, among other things, adds the Cardassians to Fleet Ops. Pretty much everything seems to be working except for one little thing.

I have one Cardassian ship that is a carrier, it automatically creates drones (max of 4 per carrier) that use the fighter craft type and fighterprocess ai process using a replace weapon. This works great most of the time but sometimes when I'm observing AI matches, a Cardassian AI will build a bunch of these carriers and then when it commits its fleet to a huge assault all the carriers and their fighters suddenly explode within the AI's base. All the other ships are unharmed and continue to fly away to an enemy base.

For the life of me I can't figure out what's causing this.

Does anyone know what might be going on?

I've attached the relevant odf files (the carrier (escort), the replace weapon (gcdrones) and the the drone (cdrone))

This bug sometimes results in a memory error (even though the game is only using about 400mb at the time).

Today I found out it happens even when the ships don't have a fighter replace weapon, just normal beam weapons. I found one sound event for the ships wasn't included in events.dat but I fixed it and the bug is still there. It only happens to some Cardassian ships and I've double checked those ships for errors in their odf files. These ships work fine for a while and join the fighting and all that, but always explode en masse right before the AI commits a large force to attack an enemy base.

EDIT: I finally figured it out: the game doesn't play nice with ships that have 0 hitpoints for the life support system, even if the ship has no crew...
