I have OpenOffice instead of Microsoft Office. Is there an .ods format available for this file?

I used excel to convert to ods, i don't have a copy of ooo or libreoffice to test if it works (i wouldn't even know how to check if it works, i just used save as and selected ods)

so if it's broken, i don't know how to fix it.

ok so ods can't be attached, i'll zip it

wait, can't ooo open xls as well?

Nevermind, I managed to convert it into something OpenOffice could use. But, I have a few questions after looking through the formulas:

1. Why is there no option for projectile weapons? I saw that there will be this new weapon category in a news post.
2. Why don't the formulas include shots per volley or time between shots within a volley? Given that volley shots do not all fire instantaneously and regeneration rates of enemy shields and hull are not zero, this should matter.
3. Why don't the formulas include weapon range? 50 damage at dogfight range is inferior to 50 damage at strategic range.
4. Why is the offensive value of a weapon linearly dependent on time between shots? Having to wait 5 seconds for another shot is more than twice as bad as having to wait 2.5 seconds for another shot.
5. Why don't the formulas include area effect? Damage dealt to a single object versus damage dealt to all objects within a certain radius should count differently.

The calculator is much simplified from what we actually use in scripting Fleet Operations :). Basically I made the calculator with Blade back when I knew a minimum of the internal calculations, and via the limitations of excel, we can't really make them more complicated anyway. A lot of these calculations tie into one another, and so it can get quite confusing very fast and so we kept it simple.

1. Projectile Weapons in 327 act as beam weapons - with an added benefit of dealing increased damage to vessels 19 Defensive Value and below (iirc).
2-5. See initial statement :)
