Galaxy Class and Venture refit (3.1.2)

A Galaxy Class replacement with a Venture refit for veteran rank (by Deemon, modified by Michael Kelly) for FO version 3.1.2 since I don't know how long until FO gets a Venture refit properly.

It still has the Enterprise's markings, so those will have to be removed or tolerated.

If the creator (Michael Kelly - compertz@optusnet.com.au) want this removed, I will remove it. I tried to contact him and the e-mail didn't send.

I would like it.... just that I'd like darker textures. I'm not too much to the fan of white ships.

Plus the registries. I personally dislike registries because it makes all the ships clones.

Well, there should be a file on Armada2Files that has a darker, registry-less version of this Galaxy. I never bothered removing the numbers because hat ruins it. I prefer Federation ships, rather than Terran knock-offs.

I agree about the textures needing to be a tad darker as for the registry and name I just try not to zoom in close enough to read it

the venture refit as i recall was for the USS Venture alone, and never included to any other galaxy class ship.

It was also never seen on the Venture itself after they switched to CGI models, and the only physical aspect of the refit (the extra phasers) was a leftover from an earlier Galaxy model. Doesn't stop people latching onto the varient.

They obviously didn't simply forget to remove the phaser, since they rotated them 180 degrees.

I found some non-reg versions, though it will take some work before it could even be implemented. I'm curious though, where would I find an image of a venture refit from on top?

Ok. I'll try it. Once I get my hands on a copy. I could attempt using assim view, but it is very.... tedious.

Plus personally I sorta dislike how the phasers on the provided model look like as if it was kitbashed on. But I guess a guy can't have everything.

Sometimes I wonder what is the obsession of using regs all about. Its like you have to beg someone to not put them on these days.

Plus, a lot of models w/o regs are 2005 or older.

EDIT: I found some better sets. Now I can even have the X refit matching too.

EDIT 2: I found all of these copies with the A extension. What are these for?

the Galaxy class had a 3rd nacelle added to achieve warp 9.99 for 12 hours, not many of these ships were built because of a major structural defect around the bottom neck and deflector dish. probably why the sovereign class is the designed the way it was, to eliminate this problem. now that answers my problem why FO doesn't have a build option open to the galaxy class.

Where'd the Galaxy-X info come from? We've only seen one universe where that design was used, and got no information on it. The Enterprise could have been unique for all we know, with only Rikers being refitted like that.

EDIT 2: I found all of these copies with the A extension. What are these for?

The A-extension Galaxy odfs are buildable Galaxy's for the McKinely-type Yard. Map Unit only.

I hope we get to use those extra phaser strips that this Galaxy variant has !
