Warning buoy (FO 3.1.5)

A small Warning buoy that can be added to a neutral AI team (preferably team 0 and close to the danger itself) to provide a warning and remind people of nearby dangers. It comes with the messege empty by default, so you can add one to fit the requirements.

Not exactly an important concept due to the nature of the game, but it adds a bit of realism to a map and was done multiple times on the show by several ships. This one is custom made for the role and won't cause any unwanted side effects, like shooting the enemy, having crew, sending out Tachyon pings, ect.

Hi,

would be nice to have this buildable - as a marker who the builder think his space start ...
(like a warning : You enter the space of race XY - be aware.)
Can make borders in an slower game usable ...

I'm not sure a buildable Warning Buoy would work properly. You'd need to set the message, and using the map editor risks showing you where everything is.

Hi,

cant the message not set by build automatic ?

As Border Buoy it is enough if the massage say "You enter space claimed by Player 1" as example.
So only the player number musst different for every player.

You could probably give it a refit system similar to the Federation turret to change it to a pre-set message you chose, but that would need a new odf for every message. Different ones for each player name.

Maybe the FO team can add a new symbol that translates into the name of the owner. It would allow a single odf to do all player names, but it would probably be a low priority addition.

I doubt it's even on the radar sadly.  It would be nice though.  Maybe not even a map object, just a trigger or something.  Like once they cross a line of triggers or something a sound plays similar to red alert.  I dunno, just my thoughts.  Love the idea though.
